F1 Strategy Simulator
Pick a race and write up to three tyre plans — which compounds, and how many laps on each. The simulator measures the real tyre wear of that weekend from the laps the drivers actually did, then runs the race 1,000 times, with safety cars and virtual safety cars as often as they have happened at this circuit, and tells you which plan wins and how often.
Tyre wear from the weekend
For each compound a chart shows the clean laps and the line that fits them: how many tenths a soft, medium or hard tyre loses per lap as it gets older. Before the race the numbers come from the practice long runs; with nothing yet run, from past races here, marked «few data».
Which plan wins, and when to stop
Results show the typical race time of each plan and its spread — «9 times out of 10 it is faster than this» — plus how often one plan beats another. For every stop the pit window gives the best lap and the other laps that are just as good within the noise.
Who got it right, and the undercut
After a dry race each driver's real strategy is compared with the best plan in hindsight: seconds lost or gained, and whether a stop came under a safety car. The undercut calculator tells you how many more laps the rival has to stay out on his old tyres for your early stop to put you in front, and the overcut does the same the other way round.
What it doesn't know: traffic, team orders, damage and the weather after the start. Links are shareable: the address keeps the session and the plans you wrote.
